* If one of the HKDSE subjects is “Citizenship and Social Development” (CSD), the minimum entrance requirement would become “Attained” for CSD and Level 2 in four other HKDSE subjects, including Chinese and English. Level 2 in Mathematics Extended Part (Module 1 or Module 2) is also recognised as one of the five HKDSE subjects in fulfilling the minimum entrance requirement.
Applicants can use Applied Learning subjects for admission purposes.
For Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) HKDSE candidates, the following alternative Chinese language qualifications are recognised by the College of International Education as equivalent to HKDSE Chinese Language:
Grade E or above in GCE A/AS Level Chinese; or
Grade C or above in GCSE/IGCSE/GCE O-Level Chinese; or
“Attained” or above in Applied Learning Chinese (ApL(C)).

Music Studies

Shortlisted applicants for Music Studies will be notified of interview and audition arrangement by phone and/or email after submitting the application.
Instrumental requirement for Music Studies: Grade 8 in practical examination of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) or equivalent in standard. Applicants are required to attend and pass the audition.
Applicants are expected to attend the interview and audition in person (no online arrangement):

Voice
String (Violin, Viola, Cello and Double Bass)
Winds (Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon and Saxophone)
Brass (Horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Tuba and Euphonium)

Interview Arrangement
For applicants choosing the following Concentration Studies as their first choice, the interview arrangements are:
Music Studies (Only shortlisted applicants will be notified of audition/interview arrangement)
Sport and Recreation Studies (Some applicants may be invited for admission interview)
Visual Arts (Applicants should submit a portfolio at the time of admission interview)
Applicants will be notified by email / SMS / phone call about 7 days in advance if they are invited to attend an interview. The interview date and venue will be provided in the notification.
Applicants who require any special arrangements in the admission interview may make their requests with justifications/reasons by email to applycie@hkbu.edu.hk at least 3 working days in advance of the interview date.
