Evidence-based scientific research provides strong and traceable data for both scientists and citizens about scientific theories and truth. Research process and interpretation play a high role in tertiary education. The objective of this research is to provide opportunities for students to experience how to conduct a nutritional research in relation to their daily life.
A questionnaire target nutrient intake related to bone density development e.g. calcium and vitamin D intake, frequency and intensity in doing physical activity was designed for the survey by students. Empirical bone density data were estimated by a bone densitometer.
“I am lucky to have enthusiastic teachers who care deeply about student’s personal and educational development. I really enjoy doing research with a group of people. Besides, lecturers taught me a lot of research skills such as literature review, setting hypothesis, data processing and analysis. It is an unforgettable experience throughout the college life.” replied by Becky Ho, one of the survey team members.
