Quality Assurance
Quality assurance is an integral part of the CIE in all areas of teaching and learning. It is a collective and continuous process to ensure that academic and professional standards are met in its programmes for the benefit of all stakeholders including students, parents, teachers, as well as employers in the community.
HKBU’s student-centred approach in teaching and learning and student development of its sub-degree programmes, as well as staff’s caring attitude towards students and the high standard of teaching and learning support facilities , were commended in the Report of a Quality Audit of Sub-degree Operations of Hong Kong Baptist University released by the Quality Assurance Council of the University Grants Committee in October 2018.
The Report also commended CIE in the planning, implementation and monitoring of the adoption of Outcomes-based Teaching and Learning and criterion-referenced assessment in the Associate Degree Programme. The wide spectrum of co-curricular activities arranged for sub-degree students is recognised as valuable learning experience by the Audit Panel. The engagement of both internal and external advisors is also deemed to have enabled international benchmarking, engendering a broad culture of quality.
